Description

Specialization in Gender, Law, and Human Rights Advocacy is designed for students in Gender & Social Justice or Human Rights & Global Justice who are interested in the intersections of gender and human rights. It provides a foundation in human rights legal and institutional frameworks, feminist methodologies, and advocacy strategies for addressing gender-based violence, discrimination, care labour, and economic inequality. Gender & Social Justice students will explore how human rights law shapes gender justice, while Human Rights & Global Justice students will engage with feminist perspectives on law, policy, and social change. Students choosing to participate in the Trent in Bolivia study abroad program will also gain experiential learning opportunities in the Global South.

Students who have fulfilled the requirements for a single- or joint-major Honours degree in Gender & Social Justice or Human Rights & Global Justice may graduate with a Specialization in Gender, Law, and Human Rights Advocacy if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits*:
