Description

The Specialization in Psychological Research Methods and Data Analysis is open to students in the single- and joint-major Honours degree programs and is intended for students interested in pursuing graduate work in psychology and a career related to research and data analysis or psychometrics. This specialization provides students with a background in the empirical foundations needed to understand how research is conducted in psychology and similar disciplines and how data are analyzed in these fields.

Students who have fulfilled the requirements for an Honours degree in Psychology may graduate with a Specialization in Psychological Research Methods and Data Analysis if they have successfully completed the following 4.0 credits:

  • 2.0 PSYC credits consisting of PSYC 2018H, 2019H, 3016H, and 3017H

  • 1.0 PSYC credit from PSYC 3755H, 4110H, 4120H, or 4850H

  • 1.0 PSYC credit from reading courses (PSYC 3900Y, 3901H, 3902H, 4900Y, 4901H, 4902H) or research practicum courses (PSYC 3801H, 3802H, 4801H, 4802H) that focus on research methods and data analysis in psychology or psychometrics; or the thesis course (PSYC 4010Y/4020D)
