Bachelor of Arts Joint-Major Program in Forensic Science
The same course may not simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs in a joint-major degree, with the following exceptions:
Students pursuing a joint-major Honours degree in Forensic Science and Biology are required to take the following courses which simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs: BIOL 1020H, BIOL 1030H, MATH 1051H, and MATH 1052H.
Students pursuing a joint-major Honours degree in Forensic Science and Chemistry are required to take the following courses which simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs: CHEM 1000H, CHEM 1010H, MATH 1110H, and MATH 1122H.
For students in a joint major with Biology, BIOL 2000H is equivalent to FRSC 2020H for program requirements but does not count as a Forensic Science credit. Students who have successfully completed BIOL 2000H are not permitted to take FRSC 2020H but must substitute another FRSC course at the 2000 level or beyond in order to fulfill degree requirements.
It is not possible to combine Forensic Science and Anthropology in a joint-major Honours degree.
1.0 MATH credit at the 1000 level, 1.0 BIOL or CHEM credit at the 1000 level, and 60% or higher in each of FRSC 1030H and 1100H are prerequisites for required course FRSC 2011H.
The joint-major Honours program. 20.0 credits including the following 8.5 credits:
2.5 FRSC credits consisting of FRSC 1030H, 1100H, 2011H, 2020H, and 3100H
2.5 FRSC credits at the 3000 level or beyond in addition to the above
1.5 FRSC credits in addition to the above
1.0 MATH credit at the 1000 level
1.0 BIOL credit or 1.0 CHEM credit at the 1000 level
In addition to the program requirements listed above, students must satisfy the University degree requirements, including 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.
