Bachelor of Arts Program in Communications
For students in a joint major with Policing & Community Well-Being or Sociology, PLCW 2100H and SOCI 2151H are equivalent to COMM 2010H for program requirements but do not count as a Communications credit. Students who have successfully completed PLCW 2100H or SOCI 2151H are not permitted to take COMM 2010H but must substitute another half-credit course in Communications at the 2000 level or beyond in order to fulfill degree requirements.
The single-major Honours program. 20.0 credits including the following 9.0 credits:
3.5 COMM credits consisting of COMM 1000H, 1001H, 2001H, 2002H, 2010H, and 4000Y
1.5 COMM credits at the 3000 level or beyond in addition to the above
1.5 COMM credits in addition to the above
1.0 WRIT credit consisting of WRIT 1001H and 2002H
1.5 credits from COMM in addition to the above and/or from ADMN 1000H, 2080H, 2100H, 2410H, 3150H, 4160H, ANTH-MDST 4820H, CUST-MDST 1535H, 2186H, 2535H, 3139H, 3184H, 3186H, 3535H, INDG-MDST 2030H, 3102Y, or SOCI-CAST-MDST 3450H
In addition to the program requirements listed above, students must satisfy the University degree requirements, including 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.
The joint-major Honours program. 20.0 credits including the following 7.5 credits:
3.5 COMM credits consisting of COMM 1000H, 1001H, 2001H, 2002H, 2010H, and 4000Y
1.5 COMM credits at the 3000 level or beyond in addition to the above
0.5 COMM credit in addition to the above
1.0 WRIT credit consisting of WRIT 1001H and 2002H
1.0 credit from COMM in addition to the above and/or from ADMN 1000H, 2080H, 2100H, 2410H, 3150H, 4160H, ANTH-MDST 4820H, CUST-MDST 1535H, 2186H, 2535H, 3139H, 3184H, 3186H, 3535H, INDG-MDST 2030H, 3102Y, or SOCI-CAST-MDST 3450H
In addition to the program requirements listed above, students must satisfy the University degree requirements, including 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.
The same course may not simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs in a joint-major degree.
