Bachelor of Arts Program in Policing and Community Well-Being

  • For students in a joint major with Child & Youth Studies, Communications, or Sociology, CHYS-COMM 2010H and SOCI 2151H are equivalent to PLCW 2100H for program requirements but do not count as a Policing & Community Well-Being credit. Students who have successfully completed CHYS-COMM 2010H or SOCI 2151H are not permitted to take PLCW 2100H but must substitute another PLCW course at the 2000 level or beyond in order to fulfill degree requirements.

  • Students in the program are recommended to include one of SOCI 2430H, 2610H, or 2615H as electives for the degree.

  • Students may take only one of PLCW 4004Y or PLCW 4005Y for credit.

The single-major Honours program. 20.0 credits including the following 9.0 credits:

  • 5.0 PLCW credits consisting of PLCW 1001H, 1003H, 2002H, 2005H, 2010H, 2100H, 3002H, 3003H, 3004H, and 3007H

  • 1.5 PLCW credits at the 4000 level

  • 1.0 PLCW credit at the 2000 level or beyond in addition to the above

  • 0.5 FRSC credit consisting of FRSC 1100H

  • 1.0 SOCI credit consisting of SOCI 1001H and 1002H

In addition to the program requirements listed above, students must satisfy the University degree requirements, including 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.

The joint-major Honours program. 20.0 credits including the following 8.5 credits:

  • 5.0 PLCW credits consisting of PLCW 1001H, 1003H, 2002H, 2005H, 2010H, 2100H, 3002H, 3003H, 3004H, and 3007H

  • 1.5 PLCW credits at the 4000 level

  • 0.5 PLCW credit at the 2000 level or beyond in addition to the above

  • 0.5 FRSC credit consisting of FRSC 1100H

  • 1.0 SOCI credit consisting of SOCI 1001H and 1002H

In addition to the program requirements listed above, students must satisfy the University degree requirements, including 0.5 credit from the Approved Indigenous Course List.

The same course may not simultaneously satisfy the requirements of both programs in a joint-major degree.
